Behind Closed Doors...

I would love to have these doors in my home -
ancient
faded
heavy
and a little
mysterious...
Curious as to what's behind them?
Let's pad across these gorgeous wide planked pine floor and see...

Gorgeous! That bathroom wouldn't be anywhere near as stunning if it weren't framed by that incredible woodwork. Functional Art. The stuff my dreams are made of.

I so want a claw foot tub... and the pine floors ... and the door ... I don't want much ...

But I would love to crawl into that tub right now!

But instead, I'm off to paint. I've been stretched very thin this past week - just not enough of me to go around to get everything done that needs doing! As far as the exterior, I haven't gotten as much done as I'd like to, because every step of the way we run into little (and not so little) things that need repair before it can be painted. More time is being spent on that rather than actual painting, so there isn't a lot of things to show you that are really picture worthy yet, but soon.
That's a word I hear a lot around here lately ... soon. SOON! SooOoooon! Your guess is a good as mine as to when that is, but it is definitely Poor Tired Husband's favorite word now because you can't really measure it. Tricky little husband.
Out into the day I go!
Enjoy yours.

Oh yes...painting the outside of the house. Akin to stringing beads without a knot at the end.

Ours is on that giant list...that is so giant it's hard to tackle!

Hi Isa,

We are still waiting for warmer weather here, so that DH can finishing painting what he started last year. Meanwhile new projects keep coming up. It's never ending.

Oh, so swoon-worthy! The doors, the floors, the tub-- I am so with you! That is one gorgeous space.

And home projects never go as quickly as planned, at least so say all my experiences! In fact, this past weekend, a one hour home repair turned into a seven hour one, but so it goes. xo

This is soooo awesome! I need it badly! I also adore the soft green and white on the walls!

I'm also painting lotsof projects in the house. I've just finished the hall downstairs, have to sand down the upstairs hall, done most of it already. Then after thatI want to paint my livingroom and kitchen....hope to have anew camera by then so that I can show the results! It's a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but it'll be worth it, just like it always has been! ;P So keep up the work spirit! And remember : there are more out there like you following their dreams!

I finally got a tub like that a couple of years ago, and yes, it is every bit as wonderful as you imagine. Definitely...put it on your list!!

My jaw actually dropped open once I realized these doors led to a bathroom and not to a store front! What an absolutely wonderful idea!!

I recently saw a table (overlaid with glass) made out of a similiar door frame (of Indian origin) and it was stunning!

Beautiful work, Isa.
Love the color you selected for the outside.
I think you already know about my love of claw foot tubs.
I'm still drooling over your wisteria!
