Front Row Seats...

What a pity flowers can utter no sound!
A singing rose, a whispering violet, a murmuring honeysuckle,
— oh, what a rare and exquisite miracle would these be!"
--Henry Ward Beecher

If gardens were music
-- beautiful on its own, to be sure --
the addition of a gorgeous bench would be akin to
adding a soulful violin to the piece.

There is something
wildly romantic
about benches that
time
&
the elements
have weathered
to perfection
over
the
years...

The artistic and melodious curves of
the beautifully aged metal arms
gently swirl
in their
slow
dance
with Father Time.

Looking like flowers themselves...

or the perfect piece of Art...

A garden bench
is the exclamation point
at the end of what seemed to be an absolutely perfect statement
before

...and now would be so utterly pale without it.

My heart is hooked on old garden benches.

Have a wonderful weekend

Your pictures and words are so beautiful :-) You made me feel like I was right there with you, about to take a seat on one of those fabulous benches :-)

I love benches too. There's just something about them... maybe because they're a reminder to sit back, relax, and just take a few moments for yourself :-)

Love the shot looking right through the arm of the bench in the 5th picture.

Thanks for visiting my chocolate post. Hope you were able to find some chocolate in your kitchen to satisfy your craving!!

Thank you for stopping by my Loveleigh Treasures. I love getting new visitors. I've not seen your blog before and I think it's gorgeous. I loved the day in France, but I don't know if I would ever bring myself to crawl out of that bed. I suppose for a day in France I could be persuaded, but it would be very very hard. I'll come back soon. Have a happy Easter Weekend!

Hi Isa,

My husband brought home more of those strawberries today, they are just as big and good as the last ones. :)

Were your ears ringing this week? My DH is making a base for cabinet that will house my Grandmother's dishes. The base is like the one you like for the bathroom sink you show on your sideboard. Do you remember me telling you that my husband could make that for you, if only we lived closer.... Well, I asked him again if he would like to take a trip to California.;) I said that a beautiful girl, with a lovely name, would really like to have one made for her bathroom sink. (hint, hint) :)

He has one more to make for our daughter, that one will have a shelf on the bottom, so I'll take a picture when it's finished and send it to you.

Have a HAPPY EASTER weekend.

Hugs
