... with this raw and romantic faerie tale loft that I saw over at Apartment Therapy. I love everything about it - The fact that this home is a converted 1936 factory warehouse makes it even more delicious -- and that they left the spaces raw -- concrete floors, original columns, exposed duct work, "ready for creative expression".
"The space is soaring, with clerestory windows up to 28 feet, and a wall of original factory windows running 24 feet across the back elevation. Entering my place, to me, is like entering a fairytale, with 16-foot taffeta silk curtains puddled on the concrete floor, salvage finds from old European churches, military bases and schools, along with the latest Italian design."
"The best way I can think to describe my place is like an ongoing sculptural installation, with ever-changing expression, depending on my mood and inspiration."
Speaks right to my little Artistic heart and everything that i love -- well, all but two things. 1. It's in Georgia, and not California, and 2. It's not mine. hee.
Happy Weekend lovely ones!

It looks like "antique modern". Lovely.
Lovely space...but I gotta say...that little boy needs a silly putty nose ala Michael Jackson.
(he kinda creeps me out) But otherwise lovely!
Love the huge wood orb!
I'm so into lofts at the moment... and a little regretting that I didn't choose a loft when we moved to Berlin! Our top two apartment choices were the one we're currently in (a historic listed bldg in Mitte) or a factory-turned loft-apartments that were amazing BUT in a gritty neighborhood. We chose the nicer neighborhood and the more traditional Jugendstil apartment, but seeing these loft pics has me fantasizing about that loft-that-got away!
The curtains, by the way, in the bottom pic were sensational!

PS. You've got a special reservation anytime on a tour! You'd be a ball to shop with!
I absolutely LOVE the combination of gritty worn concrete floors and lucious, elegant silk curtains!
Our floors have HORRENDOUS tile covering a pretty cinnamon colored concrete slab... I'm trying to convince my husband to let me rip up the tile and just go with the concrete... It's not that he doens't like it, he just thinks for resale people think of it as "unfinished" (which can be true I have to say)... but maybe showing him these images will win the concrete idea some points.
Beautiful - I love those curtains in the last picture!!!
Thank you so much for following my blog!

I have put your blog on my favourite bloglist.

I was feeling all dreamy and floating in the vast spaces until I read Linda's comment and she cracked me up! But then, she always has that affect on me. I like the cement floors.
I want that big wooden ball and those curtains!
