Shiny and Bright...

...and then deliciously tarnished.

and then photographed in the dark... I've learned to grab what time I can in order to be more present in blogland. (yes, that sounds dangerously close to a New Year's resolution!)

An antique iron urn from France that was left to the magic of the elements and time and is now donned in a rusty crusty patina that is beyond beautiful.... a plethora of antique mercury glass apothecaries from Britain... and a stunning mirrored and tarnished silver French plateau ... just dreamy.

You'll see more of these later at the shop...

All of these recent treasures are actually slated for Greyfreth in some form or another... for sale as is, or as part of something created in the studio - or as a prop in the photo shoots because I can't bear to part with it. Oy. That's the rub, isn't it? Trying to put a new house together and not hijack the cool finds destined for the shop.

Resistance to keeping them for the house may be futile on these beauties that I stumbled upon (and snatched right up) ...

Shopping is so fun - and this little hideaway turned out to be quite the treasure trove.

I really did buy these for the shop... they just haven't made it over yet... and the mirror somehow ended up on my living room wall and the rusty crusty urn and mirrored plateau underneath it ended up on the chest of drawers below the new Italian mirror... yes... in my living room. (gulp) You can see them better in these day time photos in the shop where I found them.

Will they make it to my shop? I suppose we shall see!

I did, however, manage to let go of a couple treasures and made a few stunning cross bottles out of a pair the antique mercury apothecary bottles I picked up ... they really are magical if I do say so myself. This is the favorite of my creations - so far.

Back to work I go -- I really am going to make more time to be here this year. months between blogging is just awful, and I'm sorry. I am still trying to find that elusive balance. It's my goal for 2011. That's as close to a resolution as I dare go.

Is your new year off to a good start?

xo Isa

It's so wonderful to have you back!! Glad you're doing well. I know how it can be...sometimes the blog needs to take a backseat for awhile (at least mine does from time to time). But the good thing is, it'll always be there when you're able to come back to it!

Happy New Year, my friend and God Bless!

Kathleen
