Once Upon a Time...

There was the perfect clawfoot tub - out there somewhere in the world that was the beautiful fit for Museville - somehow it has escaped my tireless searching - it must be very, very far away, or else I'd have surely found it by now! Not too big - not too small - not too far beyond redemption - not too expensive... I know it will find me when the time is right.
I'm sure our paths are already on a collision course.
*
Its journey started from a simple life, and it wanted more.

It dreamed of a better life - one where someone would restore it to its former glory.

The little tub, that is far away, heard the calling for a good home in Museville and began it's trek to the sleepy little beach town ...
Along the way it tried a stint as a nature child

from there turned into a flower child ...

Inching closer to the West, it decided to rest and hung out as patio tub for a while - offering baths under the stars ...

Where a princess fell in love with the tub and wanted to keep it all for herself

She took it to party after party, and soon the poor little tub was quite the lamp-shade wearing life of the party scene!

It became somewhat of a concern when the little tub would wake up not knowing where it was, how it got there, nor the company it was in...

The little tub continued partying like a rock star and started hanging out at the biker clubs -

The princess got sick of the reckless antics of the little tub and kicked it out -
Homeless and hungover, the tub temporarily forgot its calling, and for a while kept company with others happy to stay in their bad situation...

The tub's dream was too strong to be denied, and it really did want a better life, so it went to find redemption, and to do what was needed to get back on track!

it was in company with the other clawfoots looking for their way back to inspiration and purpose

One new friend left for a bit and when they came back, they were hardly recognizable!

The little tub didn't want that sort of change, and remembering the call it felt from the west - the new and loving home promised in a dream - the little tub set forth again through the wilderness

I know my little tub is out there somewhere - and our paths will cross - it's just meant to be.
I'm not giving up on it - I continue to search for it - and remain optimistic that we will find each other... my little perfect tub and me.

So for now, I'll just dream of what it will look like, when it is finally happily planted in Museville. ... and hope that it happens sooner rather than later.

Ahhhhhh.

So funny, I love it. If I come across that reckless tub I'll send him back home to you. You never know what kind of company he keeps. He might just come home with a whole lot of little tubs in tow.

Thanks for putting a great BIG smile on my face.

Discovered your blog a week ago, went back to read it from the beginning.

Love your writing, your pix and the story of Museville.

Through you I found niartist and through him Canyon Wren Cottage (in my neck of the woods). Thanks for the introductions.

Keep writing, you make my day.

Ha! What a grand story...and WHAT a life that little tub has led!

I had one in our backyard once...always wanted to have it refinished and put in our bathroom again (a diff home)....but alass, it never became more than a bobbing for apples station at our halloween party!

I have another claw foot tub story for you. Have you seen Corey's?

Please go backward and forward, from this entry, in her blog... To see the whole story of her claw foot tub.

When we renovated my bathroom a couple of years ago, I finally got the claw footed tub I had longed for. I had a wonderful artist that works for me cover it with William Morris flowers. It's the best place in the world to be!
