*under construction*

03 January 2010

It's a beautiful thing.....

The lingering glow of Christmas still softly illuminates Museville and the residents move slowly and happily back and forth from hammock to the outdoor dining room under a pergola donned in musk roses or to stretching out on the sun bleached velvet sofa like some sort of litter of well fed and lazy kittens.

and yet my mind is elsewhere - somewhere totally unplugged - a place where the only sounds are the heartbeat of the world - the wind in the trees, the birds, the soft lapping of the ocean on the shore ... that is where I want to spend these 12 days of Christmas next year with my little brood.

This the only time when our clan of 3 have any real time together -- after a year of helter skelter and reaching a point where none of us feels we can possibly do another bloody thing - the whirlwind begins to slow... PTH has three glorious weeks off and Royal Sonshine has the same time off from school - his part time job seems like a breeze to him now with no papers, classes, deadlines competing for his time ...

The beast II stays parked in the driveway much more during these gloriously slow weeks - the construction next door has temporarily stopped for the Christmas break - the weather is mild, the sun is weak, it's as if the entire world is in the perpetual state of twilight - and it seems as we have been granted the year long wish..
to just
... be.

and it's perfectly lovely.

I feel guilty when I just "be." I need to get over that. On the other hand, you justly deserve it. You need an assistant just to keep up. Happy new year, Isa.
